Highlights from Temple’s Homecoming & Family Weekend 2025

Temple University celebrated its annual Homecoming and Family Weekend from Monday, Oct. 6, through Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025. It was a full seven days of festivities as alumni, students, families and friends gathered together to celebrate the cherry and the white with pride. The week was packed with events, including the Bell Tower pep rally, Cherry On activation, Tailgate Village and more culminating in the Homecoming game, where the Temple Owls took on the Navy Midshipmen.

Temple President John Fry at Radnor Hunt Club

Temple President John Fry attended a special evening event at the Radnor Hunt Club on Oct. 7, participating in a fireside chat with Owl alumni during a cocktail reception.

Cherry On at the Bell Tower

On Thursdays, Owls wear cherry. As part of the Cherry On Thursday initiative, Temple held an event for Homecoming and Family Weekend on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Bell Tower. During the event, Temple introduced a new brand campaign aimed at clearly defining what it means to be Temple Made.

Pep Rally

On Friday, Oct. 10, Temple’s Spirit Squad and Diamond Marching Band teamed up for a Homecoming pep rally at the Bell Tower. Temple’s new head football coach, K.C. Keeler, spoke at the event.

Mosaic Concert

On Friday evening, Temple hosted a fast-paced concert in Lew Klein Hall, featuring back-to-back performances by Boyer student soloists and ensembles, including the Temple University Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, choirs, dance and chamber ensembles.

Tailgate Village

On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 11, Owls gathered outside Lincoln Financial Field for the biggest tailgate of the year in Tailgate Village, coming out in full force to show their Temple pride before the Homecoming game against Navy.

Homecoming game 

The 2025 Homecoming game kicked off at Lincoln Financial Field at 4 p.m. and was aired on ESPN 2. Current members and alumni of the Diamond Marching Band came together for a special halftime performance celebrating the band’s 100th anniversary. Temple ultimately fell to Navy 32-31, after the Midshipmen scored a 50-yard touchdown with just 39 seconds left and completed a game-winning 2-point conversion.
